Morales-Garoffolo (ICE/CSIC-IEEC), F. Huang (Beijing Normal Univ.), report that an optical spectrogram of TCP J02454138-0812301 near NGC 1082 (range 340-820 nm; resolution 1.2 nm), obtained on Oct. 27.92 UT with the Asiago 1.82-m Copernico Telescope (+ AFOSC) under the Asiago Transient Classification Program (Tomasella et al. 2014, AN 335, 841), shows that the object is a type Ia supernova. Assuming a redshift z = 0.03 (which is consistent with that of the nearby galaxy NGC 1082 as reported by NED, Sloan Digital Sky Survey DR1, 2003), the spectrum resembles that of type Ia supernovae similar to SN 1991bg a few days after the maximum light. Classification was made via GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A.Ap. 488, 383) and SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024). The Asiago classification spectra are posted at the website '
